Steam客户端于1月2日起正式停止支持微软Win7/8/8.1操作系统

IT之家 1 月 2 日消息，Steam 客户端今日（当地时间 1 月 1 日）起正式停止支持微软 Windows 7、Windows 8 和 Windows 8.1 操作系统，使用相关系统的用户已无法再接收到任何类型的客户端更新。

至于具体原因，V 社声称由于 Steam 客户端的核心功能依赖嵌入式谷歌 Chrome 浏览器（网页套壳），后者已无法在旧版本 Windows 系统正常运行，且相关操作系统“份额已经不足 1%”，因此必须作出这一决定。

另据 2023 年 11 月的 Steam 硬件及软件调查显示，全平台中只有 0.81% 的用户使用相关操作系统，作为对比，Windows 10 份额为 53.53%、Windows 11 份额为 42.04%。

IT之家同时注意到，V社表示虽然“掉队者”已经无法再接收 Steam 客户端更新，但“这些旧版操作系统上的 Steam 客户端和游戏在没有更新的情况下仍能继续运行”。
